Overgrown Dungeon Guide for Fell & Sell

Prepare for Fell & Sell's second official dungeon biome with a stricter exit plan, goblin context, stronger replacement reserves, and controlled route learning.

Ver. 1.4.3 named baseline · Official-source review 2026-09-19 · Newer public update: September 18

Quick answer

Enter Overgrown only after Shallow runs are reliably banked, then reduce the initial stake while learning goblin pressure, new traps, and unfamiliar route cues.

What is verified

  • Overgrown is the second official biome after Shallow.
  • Goblin enemies are part of the official Overgrown context.
  • Deeper dungeon travel is officially associated with rarer loot and greater loss exposure.

Version-aware guidance

What changed recently

Maps have been live since August 31. September 18 revised enemy groups, elite encounters, loot and generator behavior; familiar Overgrown routes still need a new assessment of healing windows and haul value.

01

Lower the learning stake

A build that dominates Shallow is not automatically safe in Overgrown. Carry equipment you can replace, enter with more conservative stop triggers, and prioritize returning with information over maximizing the first haul.

Identify how the current goblin encounters change spacing, target order and resource use. September 18 introduced room formations and more aggressive reactions, and consumables prevent attacking during their animation. Plan where a healing action can finish before committing to another group; no biome-specific health or damage multipliers are published.

02

Separate route and combat failures

When a run goes badly, record whether health loss came from enemies, traps, navigation uncertainty, or a transition problem. Each failure asks for a different response: gear, practice, recognition, or a patch-aware workaround.

Use the live full map to separate an unexplored route from obstructing geometry. The September 18 generator changes target corridors and walls intruding into rooms; Ver. 1.0.2's blocked-passage and floor-load fixes remain historical. If a new obstruction persists, record the build and room rather than assuming either old bug is still universal.

03

Earn the Darkest budget

Use banked Overgrown hauls to fund redundant gear and shop improvements before risking Darkest. The deeper-loot promise is most valuable when the shop can convert it and survive a failed expedition.

Cross the next boss boundary only when the remaining resources support both the fight and a return. If the current haul unlocks a major craft or upgrade, banking it can be the more aggressive long-term choice.

Outdated advice to avoid

Launch loot expectations and instant recovery can overstate the safety of a deeper run. The removed Return to Village button is not an emergency plan for the current public game.
