  1. A named craft gives this item a concrete near-term job.
  2. Cash pressure favors converting replaceable stock now.
  3. Replacement appears difficult based on your observations.

The recommendation changes only from the visible weighted priorities above. Override it when you have stronger current-patch evidence.

Give loot a job before selling it

This decision tool balances your cash pressure and duplicate stock against a named crafting need, equipment improvement and the difficulty of finding a replacement. The scores are visible editorial weights. They help organize your priorities; they do not assign an official item price or query a recipe database.

When to use it

  • Protect the one item needed for a near-term craft.
  • Sell replaceable duplicates when cash is the active bottleneck.
  • Hold a small observation reserve when an item’s purpose is still unclear.

Current-build context

The September 4 Shop Update added item deconstruction, creating a third destination for spare gear. The public September 18 Dungeon Update documented weapon and armor upgrades to +3 at the Blasphemous Anvil using basic resources and Unholy Skulls. A material with a named upgrade use can deserve a different need score. The named Ver. 1.4.3 baseline remains part of the dated update history.

Worked example — hypothetical numbers

Hypothetical example: cash pressure 1, crafting need 5, equipment upgrade 2, replacement difficulty 5, duplicates 0 and sale opportunity 1 produce a keep score of 26.5 and a sell score of 3.5. The tool favors keeping the item because the named craft dominates these entered priorities. Those points are not gold or a success probability.

How to interpret the result

The output depends on your ratings and does not inspect your inventory. A close result means the decision needs more information. Before deconstructing a kept item, check its current equipment, quest and crafting uses in your own game.

Frequently asked questions

Are the scores part of Fell & Sell?

No. They are editorial decision weights shown in the calculator. Crafting need carries more weight than a duplicate count because this model prioritizes named uses.

Can this compare salvage with selling?

Use the dedicated deconstruct-or-sell tool once you know the recovery quantities and your material values. This broader tool first checks whether you should retain the item at all.

What does Observe mean?

The current ratings are close or the purpose is unclear. Check the expanded item information and keep a limited reserve while learning its use, rather than interpreting a close score as certainty.
