Evaluate a quest by its verified reward, the opportunity cost of requested items, and whether it advances the bottleneck currently limiting your shop or expeditions.
What is verified
- The Quest Board is an official progression and reward system.
- Complete current quest tables and reward probabilities are not officially published.
- Requested stock may compete with crafting, selling, or equipment needs.
Price the opportunity cost
A quest cost is more than the shelf value of its requested items. Include the craft those materials delay, the gear improvement they could fund, and the time required to replace them from a reachable biome.
When the reward is not fully verified, avoid consuming irreplaceable stock just to learn. Test uncertainty with common materials first and record the result for the current patch.
Match rewards to the active bottleneck
Prefer rewards that solve a named constraint: weak survivability, insufficient display capacity, blocked progression, or cash shortage. A nominally valuable reward can still be low priority if it does not change the next few runs.
Compare the quest with the simplest alternative. If selling the requested items directly funds the same milestone faster and more safely, the quest needs a strategic reward—not merely a larger-looking number—to win.
Keep a small fulfillment buffer
Reserve common items that repeatedly appear in useful requests, but cap the buffer. Unlimited quest hoarding creates the same storage and cash problems as unlimited crafting hoarding.
Review the buffer after each new biome or major shop upgrade. Replacement difficulty changes as deeper zones become reachable, so yesterday’s scarce quest item may become routine stock.
